L-glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found naturally in the body. It is synthesized by the body under normal conditions, however, during metabolic stress, L-glutamine becomes a vital amino acid, and it is released into the circulation and transported to the tissues in need. L-glutamine is primarily synthesized and stored in skeletal muscle.
L-glutamine has many key roles contributing to proper functionality of the body. It guards the body against acidosis by regulating the acid-base balance. L-glutamine has also been shown to improve the gastrointestinal health, wound healing, HIV patients, and endurance of athletes. It also helps in the formation of L-glutamate. It is also involved in synthesizing glutathione, proteins, purine and pyrimidine nucleotides and amino sugars. L-glutamine is also involved in controlling the supply of nitrogen in the body, where nitrogen is needed for metabolic purposes.
L-glutamine has been shown to have a favorable response when administered to cancer, surgical and intensive-care patients. It can also protect against radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the side effects of cancer.
L-glutamine has many important functions and is essential for the body. UniChem offers L-glutamine at a competitive price. Please call the number below for more information.
